Last time I presented my customized 3D Printed Eclipse board game, but another project I worked on was for a universal tournament tray for 28mm/32mm wargaming. The idea was to make a simple tray that covered all the usual base formats with space for inlaid square magnets on all of them (making it slightly easier to keep the miniatures in the same orientation during travel)
By now, you might notice that I put magnets on a lot of things. In this case, I find that a solidly magnetized fragile miniature will be far safer stuck to a solid surface than bouncing around in foam, scraping the paint and bending/breaking antennaes, swords, spears and gun barrels. This is particularly true for miniatures like Forge World's Death Korp of Krieg with a lot of long, slender, resin guns and bayonnets.
The next step was making the modular, stackable carrying box.
