Just painting some Imperial Assault goodies. I'm really not a big fan of the "White primer + nuln oil" method on the internet for painting stormtroopers. I think it makes gross, unrealistic messy white with weird shadows.
So I went and bought Kayn Somos and tested a more personnal method on him. I like the results, but my next stormtroopers will definitively look even better. Since imperial soldiers are expected to fight on deserts, bunkers, jungles and possibly snow, I'm giving dual terrain bases to my troopers. Kayn here is using a bunker/desert base made with plasticard, door screening, guitar wires and fine ballast.
And... well, who could resist painting good ol' Boba Fett?
Just a head's up though : that guy has basically every color of the rainbow on his outfit. Combined with his pose, this is a very difficult miniature to paint.
I'm fairly proud of the end result though. Will definitively look better than a cardboard token! I gave him his home turf of Tattoine for his base, but I might end up scraping pieces of it to lead in to a bunker terrain for a dual base like the rest of my units.
